Great course, very informative with lots of practical tasks. Karen was a friendly and engaging tutor with a very clear and informative teaching style. I would definitely recommend for anyone beginning to learn to sign.

I enjoyed the course, it was very convenient attending from home. The pace was good, it was a fun mix of games and theory. I have already incorporated some of the gestures into my practice! Karen is clearly an expert. I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn Makaton.

Karen is a brilliant tutor and ensures you are fully confident with each sign and symbol before moving forwards. I now have a really good understanding of the Makaton world and just how many signs there are. I completed my Makaton level 2 with Karen last week. It was a fantastic course with Karen. Karen is so calm, encouraging, patient,well organised and is great at empowering everyone on her courses. I was very engaged throughout the course and the morning wizzed by so quickly. Karen has a lovely , enthusiastic teaching manner which helps you to quickly gain confidence with signing .
I would highly recommend anyone interested to have a go . I personally want to try signing with my baby grandson . The course has also helped with signing and singing.

Makaton Level 1 Workshop

You don't need any prior experience of Makaton as Karen takes you through everything you need to know to get started. The sessions are broken down into easy to learn and remember segments and include some useful information about the origins of Makaton and differences between other sign and speak/BSL methods.

I really liked the fact that I never felt under any pressure during the workshops; this is due to Karen's relaxed and friendly style of teaching. The pace of teaching was just right too with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and to clarify anything I wasn't sure of.

I enjoyed the the variety of exercises used throughout to practice, it's a great way to learn and have fun at the same time. My 2 year old grandson is already benefiting from my ability to use my newly acquired Makaton skills!

I can highly recommend these workshops with Karen.
