Terms and Conditions

 

Makaton Training

The person who completes the booking is the client and the person who takes part in the course is the participant.

 

Bookings

 

Participant Details

  • Participant details must be for the person attending the course, the client is responsible for providing the correct details so that I can contact the participant directly.

  • Failure to provide the correct information may result in the participant not being able to access the training.

  • Any costs incurred as a result of failure to provide the correct information is the responsibility of the client. 

 

Pricing

  • For online Makaton workshops I use The Makaton Charity’s recommend price per participant. This price is inclusive of an official manual.

  • Online Makaton Taster Sessions are priced at £10 per person inclusion of materials which are emailed to participants.

  • Prices for face to face training will vary depending on factors such as venue, travel and numbers of participants.  If you would like more information do not hesitate to contact me on songandsign@ibaxter.com

 

Mileage and Travel

  • Travel within a 10 mile radius of the LA13 postcode is free of charge.  

  • 45p per mile will be charged beyond this.  

 

Payment

  • For individual participants who have booked the workshop directly, payment is expected at least 7 days before the workshop takes place to allow time for manuals to be posted and Zoom details sent out.

  • For participants who have booked via an organisation, it is requested that accounts are settled within 10 days of the invoice date. Payment via bank transfer is preferred.  Cheque payments are also accepted, and Paypal is accepted for Taster sessions only.

  • For online bookings via BookWhen, payment can be made at the time of booking via Stripe. Direct payment is also accepted via bank transfer on request.

Cancellation by the Client or Participant

  • Please give as much notice as possible should you need to cancel.  If a session is cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice, the client may be liable for the full charge (minus any travel costs).

  • Should I have to cancel or postpone, I will aim to reschedule as soon as possible or offer or a full refund. 

  • By completing the booking, the client agrees to the dates and times booked. I am not responsible if a participant cannot attend.

  • Cancellations must be received in writing and I will accept the cancellation based on the date it is received in writing.

 

​Transfer of dates or participant 

  • Should the client wish to transfer onto an alternative course date prior to their original course date, the request must be put in writing and must be made at least 14 days for in-person courses, or 7 days for online courses, prior to commencement of the course.

  • I will try to accommodate the request where possible.

  • If you wish to transfer your booking to someone else, you must email the name and email address of the person taking the place at least 24 hours before Day 1 of the course.

  • It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the new participant has also received any manuals and resources that were sent to the original participant in time for the course start. 

 

Participant Illness or Absence

  • Should the participant suffer illness or a personal issue on the day of the course, and is therefore unable to attend, unfortunately you will not be entitled to a refund. However, I will try to transfer the participant to the next available workshop where there are places. There is no guarantee as to when this workshop will be taking place.

Attendance Certificates

  • The participant needs to attend an participant in the full workshop to gain an attendance certificate.

  • For workshops which take place over several sessions, the same participant needs to attend all sessions to gain an attendance certificate.

 

 

Online Song and Sign Sessions

Pricing and Payment

  • Online song and sign sessions are priced at £1.50 per person per session or £5 per month for those who attend a general session on an individual basis. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, Paypal or cheque. Refunds cannot be made for sessions not attended.

  • For song and sign sessions which are arranged with an external organisation, the price will be agreed with the organisation prior to commencement of the sessions and an invoice raised. It is requested that accounts are settled within 10 days of the invoice date. Payment via bank transfer is preferred.  Cheque payments are also accepted.
